I came into this work at midlife, during the pandemic, and have sought to build a practice that is genuine. (Yep, that’s a selfie in my car.) My approach is centered on you and what it takes for you to live a rich, full, and meaningful life according to your values.
I named my practice mostly to be a little quirky with the IRS and insisted that my accountant include all the punctuation (alas, the IRS doesn’t allow punctuation).
It is a nod to the colloquialism, “Not Today, Satan!” since I focus on religious trauma and spiritual abuse, but I also wanted it to communicate a sense of playfulness and delight.
Of course, we’ll talk about the dark parts. And for a lot of clients, they’ve spent a long time in therapy just talking and feeling stuck.
When you work with me, I’m just gonna be a person with you. I’ll explain the why and how of exercises we do in session together, and hopefully, in the midst of the hard, help you return to your true, authentic self, so it all doesn’t seem to knock you down quite so much, so you can confidently say, “NOT TODAY, TRAUMA.”
I work from existential, feminist, somatic perspectives.
I love books, orange cats, TV, gardening, cooking, joyful movement, improv classes, and making art.
Here’s where I write about books and mental health sometimes: That Therapist Gal
